Avoid an upset stomach or diarrhea caused by contaminated food and drink by taking sensible precautions:

1. USE SEALED BOTTLED WATER: avoid drinking tap water
2. AVOID SUSPECT ICE IN DRINKS: ask for drinks with no ice
3. DON'T DRINK UNPASTERISED MILK: boil if necessary
4. AVOID ICE-CREAM FROM UNRELIABLE SOURCES

EAT FRESHLY COOKED FOOD WHILST STILL HOT: avoid food which has been kept warm, or poorly re-heated.

6. AVOID UNCOOKED FOOD: unless you can peel it or shell it yourself
7. TAKE CARE WITH FISH OR SHELL FISH IN SOME COUNTRIES
8. BE AWARE OF THE STRENGTH OF UNFAMILIAR ALCOHOLIC DRINKS
9. AVOID FOOD SERVED FROM MARKET STALLS
10. AVOID SALADS: in coutries where the tap water is not safe
